The McLaren driver edged out fellow driver and title rival the Australian for the top spot in the final moments of practice at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. Norris, who seized the points lead from his teammate by just one point after winning in Mexico City recently, outpaced the Australian by 0.023 seconds. Before then, Piastri had been the quickest of the McLaren pair for most of the session before the sprint shootout due at 18:30 GMT. Norris and Piastri were well clear of the rest of the field, with Nico Hulkenberg's Sauber P3, 0.619 seconds off the Australian's time.
